Connelly said that right after a workout, Post workout, the amount of high quality whey to consume right after a workout, not 30 mins after, but right after is 20-25 grams of whey (High BCAA content) to stimulate the enzyme system linked to Mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) which is the key regulatory system for muscle growth. You don't need carb's but maybe a little EFA, but 20 grams of whey will do the trick, anymore and the rate of protein synthesis just flat lines. Also he mentioned in an interview before that whey protein by itself pre-workout is ideal also. These are Connelly's words, hope I got them right. :)

connelly said the some thing about the max dose being at about 25 grams too.
